One of my favourite authors. This guy was truly ahead of his time; wrote such beautiful, powerful women characters.

In a time when nobody cared about the innermost feelings of women, he explored and talked about those so perfectly; and never, ever blamed women for their flaws.

Another beautiful quote from him:

“Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it.”

You are awesome. I needed to see something positive today and this subreddit always pulls me forward whenever I feel a little stuck. As a side note, I am going to the doctor tomorrow to hopefully set up sterilization and am feeling a bit nervous. I woke up worried and stressed but this post has helped to ease that and I’m grateful. 🙂

I love this and it’s a great reminder to focus on the long game and help people in your community along as an expression of love – even the ones who aren’t here yet. Prommisses of creating a better future or being rememberd as a heroe can lead to people getting into dangerous situations, as seen, for example, in the military. Self sacrifice to create a better future is not what we need.

Rather than “he or she” I’d just put “they”, and then instead of refering to the tree’s shadow as “their” shadow, I’d put “its” shadow, but otherwise yeah that quote is deep.
