Slightly cross posted but I’m also struggling so hard on what I missed and what I promised but couldn’t fulfill. I’ve never been able to mourn properly for any part of my family, and now that I have it hurts more than anything.
My grandmother passed recently this month from a combination of absolutely horrible things, she was so energetic and lively up til 6 months ago and I only found out after she passed how long she was struggling without us knowing. She lived a long life and I know it’s unavoidable, but I’m so desperate to know she’s okay now and isn’t upset with me for the past few years and all the promises I wasn’t able to fulfill before it was too late. Could anyone reach her?

Hi! I’m so sorry for your loss. I get the heartache of grief all too well. It’s normal to feel this way- be patient with yourself.
It has been very recent so my suggestion would be to wait on contacting her directly- usually when a soul passes they go through their own adjustments as well. If it was a traumatic death it can be difficult. They need to get used to being on the other side. The suggested length of time to wait to contact is roughly 3 months, give or take.
On that note, I feel your grandmother is still adjusting. I feel she will be in contact with you once the adjustment period is over. The love you gave her and continue to give her is one that is never ending, and she does acknowledge this.
Grief is love with nowhere to go. So let yourself grieve however that looks to you. I wish you all the best. 🤍
