Hi all, I need a spell for boundaries before returning to school, and the spell that I’ve got required a branch of elder wood. I don’t fancy trespassing into my neighbours fields just to get a branch of it, so I just want to know if anyone knows if theres a substitute for it? Thanks!

I suggest asking your neighbor if you may access their property and take a sample of the tree. Make something up like it’s your friends favorite tree and you want to include it in a little bit of a DIY project. No reason it has to be considered trespassing – the worst they can do is say no.

Blackthorn or Hawthorn, both traditional hedging / boundary trees that would grow alongside elder.

The trees have such distinct meanings and rich folklore I really think you shouldn’t substitute them.
