Hi everyone, I did a tarot reading today using the light seer deck

Past – ten of wands
Present – four of swords
Future – queen of swords (reversed)

This is the first time I did a past, present, future reading

Could someone suggest a good place to look up the meaning of the cards? Thanks ❤️

So today I was shuffling for my deck the Santa Muerte deck, for my daily pull, thinking about work, the day, and my graduate exit assessment coming up and 3 cards fell out in a clump.

1- Five of Swords

2 – Knight of Cups

3 – The High Priestess

And then I pulled for another Daily and I got The Emperor.

Dumb question for those of you who read tarot:

I was super into learning about tarot cards last year, I got a deck for my birthday, I read nearly every day, and I really enjoyed it. Until…

I did a reading concerning my sick cat’s health. The outlook was very bad. I had been somewhat optimistic before that reading from what the vets had been telling us, but the moment I flipped those cards over I knew she didn’t have much time left. And unfortunately, I was correct. She passed a few days later and her brother soon followed.

Since then, I’ve been too scared to pick up my cards. I don’t know if I’m scared that I’m going to be told something I don’t want to hear again and that I’d prefer not to know about tragedies in advance because it stresses me out or what. After a bad experience like this, how can I get back into reading?

Anyone else read both tarot and playing cards? If so, how would you compare the two?

I started reading playing cards a little while ago, mostly using [this old website](http://web.archive.org/web/20080604095147/http://www.hedgewytchery.com/cartomancy.html) + my intuition. So far, I really enjoy how practical and direct they are (sometimes to the point of feeling “called out” lol). I can see myself moving to playing cards for my weekly readings/everyday life stuff and using tarot for more big picture/abstract/spiritual questions. I also think it could be interesting to try reading them together once I get more practice.
