GuestDecember 25, 2021 at 3:33 amI nearly burned my hand holding a glass paperweight once. I burned the other hand making it so at least there’s some symmetry in that.

GuestDecember 25, 2021 at 3:33 amNote to self: when buying a crystal ball be sure to place it in a place the sun can’t get to.

GuestDecember 25, 2021 at 3:33 amI forget where I read it but one witch wrote along the lines “magic without nonmagical effort is just wishful thinking” and as unsure I am of the statement I certainly respect the mindset.

GuestDecember 25, 2021 at 3:33 amIt’s a very real danger. I once read about some architect who converted one of those hanging transparent Aarnio ball chairs into an aquarium and it almost burnt his house down. Scorched a line through a houseplant and vertical blinds but luckily nothing that really took to flame well. Be careful of any curvy transparent things on the windowsill, faceted crystals are safe and make little rainbows in the room.

GuestDecember 25, 2021 at 3:33 amThis happened to an acquaintance of someone I know. University in the 90s. Student burned down his flat because he left one of those contact juggling balls sitting in a window.

GuestDecember 25, 2021 at 3:33 amThis is my favorite part of witchery. Like there’s lots of mystical stuff and energies and whatnot, but there’s also a lot of just down to earth realism and the dichotomy is hilarious

GuestDecember 25, 2021 at 3:33 amI’ve personally seen damage done from a makeup mirror on a windowsill and a reading aid (magnifier) on a book in a garden. Don’t forget sun moves!
