This would be such a great Modcast – sad times.

The Rule 3 posts that I put up have quite a way of upsetting a very particular type of people. When you step on their virtues, and hold a mirror to their face so that they can see how and why they’re being so shitty, they tend to get prickly.

I say it all the time, and you’ve likely seen other moderators on different subs say it as well: If there’s a problem with people in the community then report it.

Reporting does not apply to only posts – that’s the easiest for us to maintain, and sometimes we’ll leave a post up after it’s been reported because we deem that it’s within the rules.

For those of you who lurk, and especially the longtime lurkers, you know me – you see my posts, you see my comments, you guys probably see more than I do. Now think about all of those times when you’ve seen a post or comment just completely evaporate, and how quickly you see any of us hop in, either as ourselves or as u/witchcraft-ModTeam.

This idea should applies to comments, for every person in this community.

    We’re here, and we’re active.

If you’re getting heated with somebody, report them. u/kai-ote, u/mickle_caunle, and u/young-warrior-00 are… **obsessive**… over the queue O.o

If you report it, they’ll see it and remove it with the appropriate removal reason. If there’s a question about the ones that they see then they’ll post it in our policy chat, and I’ll very likely confirm what they’re saying – although I can think of a handful of instances where they were all on the same page then I came in to say the exact opposite. Good times.

Please be wary, of course, that too many reports is not a good thing – if you go through and report stuff left and right, we can’t see who is doing it so we report it to Reddit for Abusing the Report Button……… and if that happens, it’s not us you’ll be answering to.

We want this community to be safe from rude and unkind people, and we want this to be safe from people trying to stunt your witchcraft’s growth.

    >*… if you report it, the mods will come…*

    Thanks for reading.

I read every post. But it really isn’t possible to do the same with the comments. I read most of them eventually. But it can be half a day before I get to it. That is far too long for a comment to persist if it has a problem. So we need you to observe, after a good perusal of the rules, and flag what is blatantly a rules violation. Thank you for helping us all to make this a safe place for the advancement of witchcraft.

We’re here and we’re moderating to our best capacity within the rules we have in place. Always someone is watching, literally day and night. XD

But, at the same time, we’re 9 moderators at the moment, and you’re over 360k souls roaming this place. There will be times we don’t see everything, that’s why there is a report button.

Help us create and maintain the safe space we all need to grow and be magical. We’re not tyrannical dictators, we’re here to help the place function at its best.

    Thank you ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks for making this such a safe space ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ. I’ve gotten kicked out of other witchy subreddits for stating I identified as male but this subreddit is so understanding and helpful

Honestly, I donโ€™t find this sub to be a safe place at all and itโ€™s because of an interaction I had on another account with a mod more than anything else.

Thank you. This is one of the few groups I haven’t had too many problems in except for the odd troll that posts for attention. I don’t read every post because there’s some that I just do not have feedback for, but I do try and report those that are clearly trolling.

I’d say 70% of the posts I see are asking for some kind of spell working and I stopped reporting those.

And another one of these posts. They’re getting too common.

Let’s see, rule 3 is about gatekeeping. And the last one was about any form of racism whatsoever.

    Am I seeing a pattern?

I hope not, this is always been a very welcoming and supportive community. And I’m sure I’m not alone in thanking you for keeping it that way.
