Thoughts on doing honey jar during eclipse/ Mercury shadow?

My primary focus has always been astrology so I try to cater all spell work I do to the planets. I’m feeling called to do some reconciliation work starting with a honey jar. I know working with eclipses is intense and I am also aware that Mercury will go retrograde in about a week after its initial shadow period. What are your opinions on the success of spells during this time/should I just follow my intuition at this time?
