On June 19th, 1990: Civil rights activist Nelson Mandela stepped on Canadian soil after serving 27 years for conspiracy in South Africa prisons. Before the political leader became the president of the country who betrayed him, he was just a man with a story. A story white sunburn parents didn’t feel was appropriate for little impressionable minds. So, when invited to attend the historical event, permission slips returned divided, leaving myself in a classroom with five other “politically incorrect” children.

## Things that make you go hmm…

I remember the day Betty White died. I remember because Bea Arthur recently passed away, one year after Estelle Getty.

“They always die in threes!” I proudly announced, breaking out in song to show my respect.

“You take the good and the bad, the facts of life, the facts of life!” Unfortunately, I did not remember the Golden Girls theme song and freestyled the oldest sitcom I could recall, now googling…also incorrectly.

“How old is this show?” You can imagine my shock in 2012 when a pudgy faced Betty appeared with a gang of comedic senior citizens: Off Their Rockers.

Miserable face: “What is your problem?”

Me: “I know this sounds crazy, but Betty White died?”

Quickly googling to prove either Better White is a Zombie or the television show is a rerun, I could find no evidence of her passing in 2009.

The Mandela Effect a theory named after the former president, anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist Nelson Mandela. It is a pleasure to finally meet you. In December 2013, a great man crossed the threshold into heaven, leaving the people heartbroken and others…extremely shocked? According to a large group of people, Nelson Mandela died in Prison in the ‘80s?

Paranormal consultant Fiona Broome theory hit Facebook titling reality for generation-X…and Y, by linking the strange phenomenon to a much-loved family of bears. During the interview with National Post writer Jake Edmiston, Michael Berenstain admitted a strange story father Stan Berenstain wrote in his autobiography.

**“When he (Stan) was in elementary school. His elementary school teacher said that his name was spelled incorrectly and that she was changing it to “Berenstein,” and that she wouldn’t recognize the spelling of his name in her class because there was no such name. So it goes back pretty far, the issue.”**

Is Stan Berenstein personally responsible for time-warping people into an Alternative reality?

The movie is good, not average, but very well done on a complicated subject to portray. My daughter enjoyed pointing out all the Easter eggs. It was nice to see how big she has grown since the last time she came out of her room.

I would recommend this movie to horror, action, and Sci-Fi fans. If you like the Matrix, you will enjoy The Mandela Effect. It is not a documentary, it is a thriller, with a sad start, but meet the credits with a sense of closure. The acting is good, although the tint and filming are a little flat but tolerable.
