    Hello!
Can somebody tell me… is it normal to feel tired when (and aftet) doing a reading?
    Has it happened to someone?

I feel exhausted anytime I engage my mind fully in anything. Writing a good math proof, reading a dense book, having a hard conversation with a friend… And yes, a good tarot reading.

Absolutely, and honestly I take it as a positive thing.

Coming out of it tired, to me, means that I was physically, mentally, and spiritually engaged completely, or at least to the extent of my capabilities at that time.

Those tend to be the best readings for me, and it’s probably not coincidence.

This happens whether I am the querent being read for, or I am reading for someone else, or I am reading for myself: in all three scenarios, I utilize my intention, my full presence, and my energy to engage with the process, no matter which role I’m in (or am in both).

It’s a powerful process, regardless of the plethora of beliefs about why that might be: any time a person engages with the cards in a serious, intentioned manner, power and energy are moved, and that can result in physical draining.

10/10 would recommend. You’re absolutely doing it right.

I don’t actually like reading for others because I am physically and emotionally drained. I only read now for close friends.

Yes! When I first started it was really hard to do multiple reading. I’d do two & feel like I was hit by a bus. You just have to protect your energy. After the reading is done thank your spirit guides & say “please release the energy that is not mine & go in love & light”.

I made a post about this when I first started & this comment really helped me.

absolutely normal thing. reading Tarot you talk to subconscious – your own, if you read for yourself , or your client’ – if you read for somebody else…it’s not easy job 🙂
when you read for client – take an amount of money, anything. it will be energy change. you will not feel yourself exshaustet.

Anytime you are putting your energy/full attention and intention into something it can drain you (like, in life in general). Tarot and spell work are definitely capable of being tiring so make sure to do something rejuvenating afterwards or try and work with different sources of energy so you’re not just pulling from yourself all the time. (For instance I tend to do spell-work/rituals/big readings around new and full moons so I have that energy to work with.

Grounding could be something to look in for preserving energy.

I had this happen to me. I asked a friend who was raised in tarot about it and she suggested that I charge for my readings, even if it was a couple dollars. She said that way there is a more even exchange of energy.

I haven’t performed a formal tarot reading for another person since so I don’t know if it works. Let us know if you have any luck.

Yes. It’s best to start a protection ritual before a reading. Don’t want to keep the readers energy or take ours

The other thing that helps is to eat and drink something. Light snack and herbal tea. I always try to keep a thermos of tea and some protein snacks with me when reading at the shop where I may have as many as 10 clients in the course of an afternoon.
