Totally intuitive – valid!?

3 years ago I had a spiritual awakening that was drastic, sudden, and totally life-altering. I’ve always been very “intuitive”, but since then I noticed that I had certain spiritual gifts and abilities that were suddenly very apparent. I began honing them. I also began studying numerology. I’ve realized I have some mediumship abilities (my mother and grandmother do as well.) I became acquainted with the tarot – I actually taught myself by simply studying each card and listening to the message I received from each. I fact-checked myself after, and “my” meanings are totally on the same wavelength as the traditional meanings. I read intuitively and have had great success. I also began spell work. This, too, I did entirely on my own. I’ve never read any “how to cast a spell” guides and I’ve not asked anyone for advice. I have been totally guided by intuition and again, with this i’ve had great success. I have seen others online who are doing what I do, so I’ve taken that as validation. I’ve studied some theory and history etc. but the practical stuff has just been spirit-led. And by spirit I mean source, the universe, etc. My life has been totally transformed for the better since I’ve been practicing but I’m wondering if this style of practice is accepted or common…can anyone relate?

There are lots of different kinds of witches. It sounds like you are something like an eclectic hereditary witch, probably solitary, practicing chaos magic. Meaning that you have inherited abilities, practicing a combination of types of magic on your own for which you are making up your own rules. It is totally valid and not at all unusual.

There are plenty of witches who will tell you that there are specific rules to follow, especially for certain kinds of spells. Maybe you are doing those kinds of spells and maybe you aren’t. Possibly your inner guide is even giving you certain rules to follow–listen to that guide. You may have a familiar, which might or might not be physical–listen to their guidance as well.

Do be careful, because the more you do, the more you will show up on the radar of all kinds of people (and entities). You may have already noticed that.

Record what you are doing as well as the conditions under which you are doing it (date, time, weather, location, phase of moon, etc, along with the outcome and any observations which seem relevant.
