I have a question.. I relate to my tropical birth chart 100% but I kinda relate to my sidereal birth chart too.. Tropical: Scorpio rising, cancer sun, Sagittarius moon.

Sidereal: Libra rising, Gemini sun, Scorpio moon.

But like my question is if you could relate to both and actually be both or is it only one that has to be “the accurate one”? Because my tropical “big three” is more correct but my houses and aspects are a little more correct on my sidereal. But still I relate to both. Could i really say that I have a Scorpio moon and a cancer sun if i took it from too different birth charts? or is that incorrect.

i’ve noticed in my charts that they end up saying the same thing but with different reasons.

i only use whole signs so idk if that changes things but for a very small example, in my western chart my mercury is in the 8th house in the sign sag (8th house showing obsessiveness/focus/scorpio-like behavior) but in my sidereal it is in the *sign* scorpio but the 7th house!

i believe that the interpretation can be varied soooo many different ways in astrology that it can never be an exact science.

I switched to sidereal a few years back, but I often think about this issue. I am leaning to the conclusion that Tropical reflects outer circumstances while Sidereal reflects the inner experience or more true soul experience of the native. I’ll use my own chart as an example.

Tropical is sun in scorpio and moon in virgo. I never connected with the symbolism of Scorpio and never felt the emotional intensity (one reason that led me to sidereal). However, with sun as the significator of father, it doew apply: my father was an intelligence officer and took many state secrets to the grave. In sidereal I am a Libra sun. I relate to this so much more. As a young person, I got involved in gymnastics and later in life windsurfing–both sports require an enormous capacity for balance, which I seem to have in spades. So, in a way, they both apply, but in different ways.

Interested to hear other’s takes on this!

Hi! I’ve found another twin! Same big three as well 🙂

I’ve noticed these differences/similarities while comparing my sidereal and tropical chart. I haven’t looked at my house placements in sidereal yet but I would say that I can relate to both placements, with tropical being more accurate for me. From a Vedic astrology standpoint I’ve found that my Scorpio Moon (Jyeshta Nakshatra) describes my physical appearance more accurately than my rising, as well as some minor personality quirks that I usually don’t see described in my tropical.

I feel like there should be a support group of sorts for those of us who discover sidereal astrology later in life. With downloable brochures, like “So, you’re a Scorpio after all: gentle transition to the true you.” And “Mom…Dad, I’m a Gemini moon.” And “Talking to your friends about your true 11th house placement…”

I’ve wondered about this because my tropical to sidereal is super disparate. I go from sun Taurus moon pisces to sun Aries moon Aquarius. I have Aries in my tropical chart but the only Aquarius I have in my tropical chart is Uranus and Neptune, which are outer planets, not really moon material. It just seems so crazy to go from yin earth and water to yang fire and air in those major identity sectors

You can have your preferences, which system you like working with best, but I think both charts reflect a different part of yourself, as I’ve seen it being described before
