Oh my God, I love this question!
1920s – Sagittarius, the world just escaped doom, and it’s time to take off those bras and party!
1930s – Cancer, depressed, reflective mood, but with built-in resilience.
1940s – Capricorn, practical, rationing, hard-working, and loyal at war or to those who are fighting.
1950s- Taurus, conservative, traditional, family, oriented, and built for comfort.
1960s – The age of Aquarius, duh, revolutionary, humanitarian, strange.
1970s- Gemini, eclectic, transitional, lots of internal struggle.
1980s- Leo, (I agree with you) unabashed, larger than life, materialistic.
1990s- Scorpio, broody, grungy, pretentious.
2000s – Aries, optimistic, excited, volatile.

2020s: pisces/aquarian mix vibes with empathy, mental health, spirituality, astrology becoming more part of the zeitgeist and also all the social movements. It feels like we’re finally leveling up frequency wise (not in a perfect way of course, change is chaotic but you get me). Also dopamine/colourful dressing can be very pisces, hear me out: Ziwe, Tylor the Creator, Billie Eilish’s intense colour play 🎨🌈
2010’s: cancer just bcs what comes to mind is lana del rey and tumblr aesthetics. That emo nostalgic analogue vibe

I’m likely biased, but I think there is a lot of Aquarius energy to the 80’s.
Yeah, there was a lot of “greed is good” materialism and being attention-hungry, but there was also a lot of counterculture. There were massive changes/challenges to clothing, hair, makeup, and other surface expressions. But there was also the emergence of goth/punk/alt community. I know it technically started in the 70’s, but it’s becoming a defining characteristic of the 80’s.
Then there were all of the technological improvements in the 80’s… Wine-drunk me wants to type more, but I’ll stop.

Throw me in whatever era goth, lace, dark colors, extra creative accessories, and visually heavy looks were all the rage in. But also the eras when sophisticated women like Audrey Hepburn and Lady Diana existed.
