First I want to clarifying that I have no previous exposure to the world of mediumship nor the roles/titles that come along with the abilities. When I joined this community, I noticed the labels next to certain usernames. Previous to that, my understanding of the word “empath” was strictly textbook psychology definition of the word. I always identified with it as I feel it’s the essence of who I am. Being “ sensitive “ emotionally and energetically to everything in this world. My “sensitivity” always seemed like compassion, yet to the extreme. Then I realized I understand people in my life on a deeper level than most. I don’t do it consciously. I can just TELL how someone is feeling or thinking when I’m interacting with them. I can anticipate these things pretty accurately, and I’ve developed great “people” skills as a result. But I always assumed this was just a personality trait. And one that made me the “weirdo” who respects life down to the smallest degree. It was a comment on my last post in this community where someone suggested I’m an empath and the possibility of finding a mentor. I’m intrigued but don’t know what that means or how to approach this. I feel a strong sense of imposter syndrome even writing this, as I’m likely just your average person with a bigger heart than the average joe. But I have been told my energy is “different”, and children and animals bond with me specifically and deeply. So maybe there is more to it and I’m turning to this community of beautiful souls to help in my self-discovery, or lack there-of. I’m feeling overwhelmed with it all but hungry to expand my mind!
