I’d like to know some of your challenges about being a medium.. Mine is currently having the courage to carefully come out, and bring up the very idea of loved ones communicating in spirit to someone who may be religious; let alone there being a possible message for the person.. This person is a dear friend by the way. So I’ll take any advice y’all have on that one lol.

But I’m very interested to know what some other challenges y’all have experienced and how you overcame it…

Being unintentionally tricked by spirit’s urgency

A spirit’s request often feels like it has to be done RIGHT NOW, OMG, GO GO GO LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN TO ME, but that’s not the case. I am still an alive person with alive problems; they can chill for a bit until I’m able to sort things out and be available for them.

Most spirits need a chill pill, man lol

I burnt myself out over and over, being suckered in by the urgency, until I realized I would never be able to help anyone- alive or dead- unless I took care of myself first

The ick factor. Dead minds feel different, and to a novice medium can feel flat and repetitive and even zombie-like. But mostly that was my own inexperience. 🙂

It took me a long time to stop feeling scared and terrorized by ghosts. Once the fear went away I was good, but it took a while.

That was a challenge for me too, to speak my truth publicly and to my religious parents and just say ‘this happens to me and this is my reality’ DM me anytime if you need support, I did a podcast interview talking about my experiences and challenges if you want to listen : https://anchor.fm/diana-hansen4/episodes/Clairvoyance-and-Communicating-with-Spirits-with-Sarah-Young-eaep0g/a-a1c58nm

The heavy heartbreak you feel for a few days before and after a reading. Those are tough.

Any message I have delivered from the cosmos, I don’t tell the person where it came from. If a dead relative wants their living relative to study, I’d just bring the idea of “have you considered going to school? Why not?” If the spirit insists on telling who sent the message, I might ask them to deliver the message themselves. “Oh but they won’t listen to me.” Well, if they won’t even to listen to a close relative speaking directly to the heart, then what makes them think they will listen to me? I wouldn’t even be that opened here if I wasn’t using an anonymous profile as I’ve learned to be careful and silent. Learning to be silent is to me the most challenging part. I don’t consider myself a “medium” though, but I do think the dead should not be contacting the living like that (as I’m sure some in here would disagree, which is fine, different opinions).

Personally, I find it harder to explain these things to an atheist than to a religious person. The religious person already knows there’s life after death while the atheist would just think I’m being crazy.

Fear!! fear is part of our every day life including Mediumship. If we have been cultured to be very analytical, or to be perfect or to be shy and hesitant. this types of personalities will affect mediumship. It is my belief that nobody goes into Mediumship without some fear, and anxiousness. I know I did… We do not become good mediums until we learn to overcome the fear and overcome our own anxieties and traits. As an example I’m very analytical so every time I did a reading when I was learning I would over analyze myself and beat myself up. Does the spirit world want us to beat ourselves when we’re trying so hard, goodness no. They are the best cheerleaders ever. There are spirits that will show up in your reading knowing that you are not completely trained at doing mediumship but they’re there for support and even if you get it wrong they will always have your back. So the fear comes around and gets better when practice practice practice occurs, it’s in the practice that makes the most difference to learning the skills of clairvoyance, Claircognizance, Clairsentience and so on. It’s learning the difference between energy here and energy associated with the spirit world and once we gain these very important knowings then our fears begin to subside. There is no fear of the spirit world, When you realize that your are working for them, and not the sitter in front of you that also helps.. the reading is from them, their memories, thoughts, feelings, so remember always to work for them….. A feeling of fear is definitely a part of mediumship, We must take baby steps, have the best training we can afford, and take a professional and ethical approach to mediumship. There is is so much to learn, so much intelligence and discussions with the spirit world – its a beautiful thing, we just need to get our of our own way and be the conduit that we are meant to me.. sending much love and blessing on your beautiful journey

As for coming out when not ready, especially to religious people who may have a power over you, be very careful until you are in your own power.. your own power feels amazing and nothing or no one can rock you from mediumship.. 🙏💕
