Hello! I’m interested in witchcraft, and have been lurking in witchcraft-related places for a little while, and though I know basically nothing, I want to know more! (I’m also watching videos/reading book and articles)

So, like the title says, I was wondering what deities are there? I’ve seen names from Norse and Greek mythology pop up, but other than that, no one else I think. Do some witches follow Satan/God? Do some witches even follow deities from media that have connected with them, like ones from D&D? I’m very sorry if any of this comes out offensive, I’m still trying to learn 🙂

As many cultures as there are around the world, that’s how many deities their are. Most cultures had some form of religion at some point, and many of these religions have at least one deity.

It’s just that Greek and Norse are most popular with the witches here on the subreddit. And probably Egyptian after that. I’ve seen Celtic mentioned once or twice.

Research the ancient religions of different regions, see what calls to you.

Yes to all of those. There are witches who follow deities from ancient pantheons – Greek, Roman, Celtic, Sumerian, Egyptian, and others. There are Christian witches, Satanic witches, Jewish witches, Muslim witches, agnostic witches, atheist witches, Buddhist witches, etc, etc. And yes, there are even witches who follow deities from various fictional works.

[Here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pantheons)’s a wikipedia list of pantheons, just to give you a starting range. I imagine there is more than what is listed here even. If it exists there is someone who is devoted to them, some of which may even be witches.

Norse and greek are very popular. Especially with them being so prevalent in the media it makes their names very accessible. I think the more accessible the names and mythology, the more you will find people who feel connected to them.
