What orb practices do people use in reading birthcharts? As in orbs for personal planet + personal planet, and personal planet + generational?

I use the orbs and moieties system. A moiety is half an orb, and to find the orb of an aspect between two planets or points, their moieties are added together. I might have decided upon the orb of angles myself but the rest I found in sources. Some authors give slightly bigger orbs for some of the planets; I think I’ve seen 12 for Jupiter but I like 9.

Sun: 17 orb, 8.5 moiety

Moon: 12 orb, 6 moiety

Mercury, Venus and Mars: 7 orb, 3.5 moiety

Jupiter and Saturn: 9 orb, 4.5 moiety

Uranus, Neptune, Pluto: 3 orb, 1.5 moiety

Angles: 10 orb, 5 moiety

Moon conjunct Ascendant: orb of 11 degrees

Sun trine Jupiter: orb of 13 degrees
