So, I love picking up little items from outside when I’m on walks. I collect bird feathers, pinecones, cool rocks, true morels and sticks. I use the sticks to make wands out of.

I just recently made a necklace out of the feathers I collected. I just got into making jewelry. I want to make more stuff with the things I collect outside. I could collect more feathers, but I don’t want another feather necklace.

What other things should I collect when I’m on walks? What could I do with them?

Anything and everything that calls to be collected. I usually find some herbs, and especially thrilled when I find bones. Just love them. Bigger question for me is, what do you leave? Hope you give something to the forest when you take. I like to make my offerings from things I find, except for when collecting baneful items. Full moon water and bird seed bombs are my favorite. Its like, the more often I give, the better the things I find..

I sometimes like to pick up litter as I walk my dog in the woods and fairly often towards the end of the walk I find something that seems like a gift, a rare mushroom, a particularly nice feather or a special stone etc.

I get most of the herbs and plants I use in my practice from foraging. A good local guidebook is essential though to make sure you’re picking the right things.

I currently collect sharp things. Nails, screws, thorns.

Basically collect what you need when you see it.

You could add feathers to the bottom of windchimes and incorporate them into wands.

    I am a gatherer too.

I collect heart-shaped rocks. I used to just collect interesting rocks, but then I’d end up with a bunch of rocks everywhere. LOL. Same with seashells. I have collected so many over the years. I ended up getting rid of most of them because it became clutter.
