Forums Forums Astrology What’s the difference between a Mercurial and a Plutonian “way” observation?

So people with virgo/gemini (mercurial), and scorpio (plutonian) placements like to “observe” others, and like to “people-watch”. But I noticed there is a difference between these types of observations. Is it that while the mercurial way is more on an “intellectual” level the plutonian is more on an emotional level?

I don’t think there is much of a difference really because it all comes down to them people-watching to feel more secure, for various reasons. I have no planets in Virgo or Gemini but I am a Scorpio Mars and Pluto and I watch people to better blend in, to better convince them when I need to, avoid direct conflict.

Mercurial energy is androgynous, flighty, not attached to information simply an observer.

Plutonian energy is sort of fem mars, strategic, the observation serves a specific purpose.

I say “sort of” out of bias btw, I have sun/mars in scorpio and know it’s a fem sign but it feels aggressive in a way I don’t consider fem(tho it technically is) compared to my virgo asc.

I think that’s where the similarity is most potent, both signs being fem and generally passive in their observations. Passive in the sense they don’t need direct input to gather intel. These are naturally observant signs, virgo being the fixer and scorpio the closer.

I have mercury & pluto conjunct so for me & my personal experience they are one energy. Always investigative, somewhat compulsive.🔎🕯

I wouldn’t say Pluto & Mercury have similar meanings in general. They are very different, you prob wouldn’t benefit from comparing them.

I’d avoid considering people as Plutonian,

as an archetype for an individual,

it would be a severely lacking one,

Venus conjunct Pluto in Scorpio here plus I have Mars Virgo parallel Pluto Libra in my house chart. Plutonian observation is psychological and raw: they observe someone’s thought process and emotions through how the person’s mind’s psyche works. Such as how the person uses their instincts, and emotions in situations. It’s like a psychological intuition on top of being an emotional one. They want to know what makes you tick on a deeper level. Mercury (Gemini/Virgo) likes to study a person’s thought process for the sake of gaining knowledge. They may also be judging a person’s intelligence or thinking process just to understand how smart they are or study patterns in how people mentally work.
