We frequently have reddit users come to sub asking us to confirm that they are psychic. There are reasons that these posts are considered reading requests and reasons why other questions are allowed.

Everyone has abilities. We are mammals. Psychic abilities are like any other innate ability. We can be adept at Mathematics or Science. We can be Mechanical. We can be psychics or be psychic mediums. We have intuition as mammals.

There are many types of psychic encounters. Children see spirits, ,but, they also imagine having seven purple puppies. Children's experiences end at the reason (six or seven) for many. As children grow and explore more social and cultural choices, like making friends, learning to navigate math, science and sports, and trauma or happiness, they pay less attention to spirits.

Children will adopt the beliefs of their parents and, therefore, deny or doubt spirit encounters.

If those encounters do not lessen after puberty, the child may become a psychic adult or psychic medium.

Before engaging in the study of psychic phenomena and development, we need to do shadow work and self work. We need to confront our childhood traumas. Those traumas can expand psychic skills or cause emotional illness, trauma, or even psychosis. So emotional health, mental wellness, and cultural and religious beliefs influence mediumship. Those factors influence the study and development of psychic skills.

Children born with advanced skills who remain psychic into adulthood have no choice but to learn coping skills. Do. We don't just respond, Oh yeas. You are psychic."

I speak often to teens and adults whose families are not supportive and even frightened or condemning.

So. In answering the quandary of why we don't just say things like, " Oh yeah, you are psychic, we have to read your energy.

We have to read you. We need to take all the above factors into consideration and read and evaluate whether reading a user causes more harm that is good.

Answering the question, "Am I a psychic?" is a responsibility.

It is a reading request, similar to telling a user that great-grandma's spirit is in the kitchen. We have to read you. It is more complicated than saying, "Yes or no."

It has an impact on lives. In the best cases, psychic children and adults have support people as a base and develop well after some years of study and practice. That requires patience and effort. It is better with resources and mentors. It isn't the "norm." It presents challenges.

In the worst case scenarios, the hopeful psychic medium can't handle difficult, challenging, or dangerous spirits. There are people in the psychic who say they have never encountered a spirit that made them feel fear, threatened, or unsafe.

Shamans, veteean mediums and, etc., know that isn't the case. I call those the "Happy Joy Joy" mediums. Are they being honest with themselves and others. Do they have a book to sell? Are they adept enough to assist a novice medium in crisis?

    I wonder.

The above factors are some of the reasons we don't confirm or psychic potential.

Ther are scammers and occult knowledgeable people who prey on or exploit hopeful young psychics. There are people on reddit who do this for fun or to recruit members for their cults. There are users around the psychic subs who will encourage.users.to belief their in s speedy way to develop skills.

We can cause harm without meaning to do so. So. We send the "Am I Psychic," questions to r/MediumReadings.

We want to be of help. We don't wish to pronounce judgment or cause pain or delude someone.

Good journeys to each of you.
