When I started learning tarot reading, I noticed YouTube tarot readings don’t resonate with me as much as they used to

Is it a coincidence? Or is it because I have an idea of what YT tarot card readers are doing?

Or maybe just the fact that the readings there are for a more general audience?

I think I’ve mentioned her name a lot of times by now but I started trying to learn tarot card reading after watching some vids by Vanessa Somuayina, but after I started learning, I noticed some of her readings don’t resonate with me that much anymore, especially when they’re about lovelife.

I tried watching others, but I’m kinda getting the same vibes or whatever they’re called.

Has anyone experienced something like this as well?

Once you enter a practice, mass produce garbage like YouTube single card pulls loses is luster when you find out how much more insight you can attain with just a few more cards and a well thought out spread.

Those YouTube videos imo are for those new to spirituality and do not practice divination. Almost like a babies first tarot reading. Those type of things no longer appeal to you because you have grown to understand that although a single card can tell you a lot, a proper reading is simply, infinitely better.

I feel the same. Pick a card readings only resonate if they come up in my feed and i feel drawn to them. Otherwise, usually i don’t really resonate with the readings

The best way for you to choose a card in a pick a card or even a tarot video to watch is to use a pendulum. If you don’t have one but have a small crystal just tie it onto a string honestly whatever you have around. Ask it a few yes or no questions. Circle =yes back and forth/side to side =no. If I do this as I’m browsing readings to watch I always know which will be accurate or not and roseology on YouTube is amazing.

I watch Minnow Pond Tarot, G, Rambling Mike, Sacred Shaman Oracle, and a few others and find most readers in YT don’t resonate with me either, but those few are amazing tarot readers with incredible explanations of the cards. Their readings are often 30-60 mins long and very in depth. Outside of those few, I really don’t get much from the YT readers that only pull a few cards. There are so many great channels, it could be that you’ve got yourself stuck in a rut with who you watch.

I stay away from readers who always include love in their readings because they always end up a full love reading, even when the title reads that it’s general or otherwise. Minnow Pond Tarot is my favorite because he rarely mentions love or at the very least will let you know if the reading is a love reading, but again it’s rare. He’s very logical and doesn’t ramble on about stuff that isn’t relevant to the reading.

‘Readings for the Collective’ or ‘Pick a pile readings’ are mainly an entertainment product, and I’ve noticed that very often the readers seem to have a script for the story they tell with the cards. They use freeform readings and narration rather than spreads that viewers could interpret themselves, and often there’s a good deal of showmanship involved.

Such a reading is no substitute for a personal reading, even if you’re still in the phase where you need to consult the book(s) to find out the meanings.

But hey, it got you into Tarot, so that’s a good thing.
