I think both can be very organized and possibly the two most organized signs of the zodiac, but I’d probably lean towards Virgo because Mercury in Virgo which is exalted is highly detailed oriented and could trend to focus more on the minutiae.

Not to say that Capricorn will not (I’m obv a Cap sun, Cap Merc and funny enough a Virgo moon), but Capricorn may not always care as much about the details as opposed to the big picture — it is a universal sign after all. In my mind, I really only focus on the details when they’re *important*, because Capricorn is often most concerned about the most efficient path to A-B, and sometimes, every single detail can paralyze that endeavor.

Virgo, especially talking about pragmatic practical things like week planning and scheduling stuff.

I mean Mercury is not the planet I would look for if I am trying to understand how organised an individual is. I would look for the 4th house (and its opposite 10th), the ascendant and even the Saturn but not the Mercury. 4th House Virgo people are very organised in my experience, more than 4th house Capricorn ones. Most asc Virgos are too if they don’t have very opposing 4th houses. 10th house Capricorns are very organised as well. 6th house is for routines, if the individual does not have troubling placements there (like Chiron maybe) and have placements with great aspects then again 6th house could be looked at as well.

edit: if you mean organisation in thought or speech than that is a very different story. For that I would look at the third house and its planets and their aspects. and I believe a mercury Virgo would be more organised/detail oriented then Capricorn

When I look at the Virgo archetype I see integrity, intactness and the need to subscribe to their inner morals. An individualist, a need to differentiate out. To live in a rhythm with ones own nature. To not be owned by society’s imposed rules and morals with regards to the self, relationships and how to be. An independent spirit with regards to these areas.

The harlot is part of the Virgo archetype which means it is important to not be owned in relationships or the construction of marriage. It’s the need to choose who to be with from one’s own nature rather than society’s demands.

There is also the side of virgo that abhors the chaos and destruction that is brought on by human greed. Here is the value of each part of nature playing a vital role for the whole.

Not sure I could determine those things from virgo. They relate to such different aspects of the psyche. And only sometimes we see them emerge as organization and such.

I always thought virgo, but I have capricorn in mercury and I notice teeny tiny details. I’m pretty gifted in drawing and my garden is immaculate. I keep plants alive by noticing everything and every detail of my home is spot on. I’ve actually been wondering how I don’t have any virgo placements bc I’ve never heard of capricorn mercury being a super organized placement. So this post is validating for me haha.
I have a capricorn stellium btw. Pisces moon.

I’m a Virgo rising/Capricorn Mercury and would probaly attribute my sense of organization more to the former placement.

Considering I’m double Virgo and Mercury is my chart ruler I’m going to have to go with Virgo. Sometimes I can get way too organized and overwhelm myself with it

Capricorn tends towards being a bit of a traditionalist as it’s the side of Saturn that embraces expectation; so I think it can be more neat or traditionally organized. Virgo is a sign that really enjoys its systems, however there’s no guarantee that those systems won’t be chaotic. Mercury, after all, is an ever shifting trickster, and while Virgo makes attempts to tame that energy, it is ultimately still a Mercurial sign.

For my part I’m a 1st house Mercury (so also in its traditional joy), Sun and Ascendant in Virgo; I live in a state of carefully balanced disorder, am very messy, etc – although that’s no doubt influenced by Uranus in the 6th and my fallen Saturn.

I’d say Virgo in my experience and understanding, the mutable modality is better suited to organization since it handles multiple aspects simultaneously. Plus Virgo is the natural ruler of the 6th house

neither. Organtization you’ll find in Mars and ascendant. (pure experience working with clients)

I have Virgo Mercury and I am definitely detail oriented. I catch details people don’t pay attention and it’s crazy sometimes. I have to LITERALLY make lists because my brain is literal maze and it’s easy to get lost. If it helps, I have venus- mercury in virgo in 12th house.

I have Mercury in Virgo, and my anxiety, overthinking, and racing thoughts often make it difficult for me to know where to start when it comes to organizing. I get too caught up in small details or doing the job perfectly that sometimes I exhaust myself before I can finish or even act in the first place. 🤷‍♀️
