I always imagined Demeter as coming to Hades with her sickle and hoe and ready to beat his ass for taking her baby. I’ve known farmer mom’s and they are fiercely loyal and absolutely know how to get rid of a body if they need to.

I also know farmer daughters and how bored they can get, so I totally understand why Persephone got the hell out.

The story of Hades and Persephone was symbolic of marriage. The man and father would come to an agreement but there was anxiety for the bride and both the mother and daughter had were and loneliness about being separated.
