Is that smart, can you recommend that? I’m not sure myself, but then, discovering them is closely interlinked with realising I probably need a therapist, eg, feeling like I’m going insane. And after all I need to tell them \*something\* why I’m there.

I am going through the same thing, 7 years now ( personal life) , but I have reading a lot about psilocybin research. Looks promising, so going to try it myself. There are a lot of current studies being conducted on it. You can search to see if any are accepting participants in your area.

As a person that has counseled others I wouldn’t. I am very spiritual and a believer but most are not. A well trained professional can usually tell the difference between beliefs and symptoms of psychosis. My advice would be is to have discernment. If sharing would would further your healing and or goals and you feel comfortable go ahead. It’s you session and do what you feel is safe for you.

I work with a teacher that is a somatic psychologist. She is a kundalini teacher, LMFT, sound therapist, among other practices and is exactly the type of person you’d be interested in speaking with. She is in SoCal but does video sessions I believe. Drop me a DM!

Have you considered seeking a like minded therapist? Someone who provides spiritual counseling as well, it should be a safe space where you feel free to express yourself. If you are doubting being able to open up like that, maybe its worth a discussion to see where your therapist stands with spirituality to see if they are a good fit. 🙂

I havent spoken this way with my therapist at the moment.

I only really just started my journey and I told him I had a soul reading in February, and things have progressed from there talking about trusting the processes AND energies I feel from particular actions and such.

What I can tell you from personal experience is this – DO NOT tell people you experience strange things. They will put you in a box and treat you as though there is something wrong with you.

I pick up on other’s thoughts sometimes. It doesn’t work like hearing a radio. I don’t control it but it has gotten me out of some dangerous situations in life. I once mentioned it to someone that was in a management position at a company I worked out a long time ago, and she made fun of me, and tried to out me as a “crazy person” in front of other people. I pretended I didn’t know what she was talking about and made her look stupid instead.

Funny thing? Doesn’t work all the time, but I felt the thought of “I’m going to get him,” before she started talking. A few moments later she tried to lead me into a conversation that I immediately put the breaks on.

I think there are more people experiencing unexplained phenomenon than reported because “burn the witch” is in a lot of really stupid power hungry people’s DNA. Not sure why.

    People suck.

VERY highly debated topic. Personally, I’d be cautious. Went to school for psych and they count reiki as pseudoscience, especially psychic abilities. There’s a rich history of medicating people with them. But I did have a therapist who encouraged me to talk about it! If you find on of those, use your best judgement. The most is do is talk about intuitive nudges or feelings.

They will drug you, label you and make u feel more insane than you do now.. that is until the drugs take u over, dumb u back down and u no longer care about anything.

It is better to find a spiritual guide who is not “in the system”

Shaman, other more progressed psychics, yogi, etc

There is a lot of crossover in these realms, and often people who are quite spiritually progressed, in having liberated themselves from a lot of trauma, know how to spot trauma patterns in others and offer ways of absolving those patterns

Just ask … they’re getting your money, so choose the one who doesn’t balk: “hey, I’ve got these psychic abilities, and I want some support while I develop them/learn to live with them/whatever your goal is.”

I will preface and say that I am not a doctor. I will tell you my experience, but I am not giving you advice. I had abilities that came naturally. After being thwarted into therapy (just because I never interacted with people as a child), I had to force myself to close up that side of myself. Now that I am older, it struggles to get out of me. You could be seen as crazy. Anything that isn’t white bread to them is abnormal. In my experience, at least. I did have a wonderful therapist, but she was a tribal therapist and knew of spirituality.

General pop. Likes to think we live in a material world. I was given a soft diagnose of bipolar at age 12. After 20 years of meds I went through the dark night of the soul. Been off that junk for 2.5 years. I don’t deal with the psych field anymore. Only person that I can talk about my experiences with is my gf and my cousin. It’s a lonely existence. It’s not like there is a book you can pick up or find a mentor.
