I know the title is a bit studip because sure they can..

I’ve had several readings over the years and I want to understand more about how it works.

As I understand it is a bit like tarot cards right? The cards pick up on my energy at that moment. Is it the same mechanism with psychics? Like the readings can be affected by my own beliefs at that moment? And if you change your beliefs would the outcome be different?

    Thank you for reading ❤💗💚

EDIT: thanks you so much everyone for writing out your thoughts! It was really interesting to read, and i read all of them <3 also everyone got an upvote. It seems like the answer is “yes AND no”, because free will, change of “timeline” and the psychics ability. All of yout answers make perfectly sense <3

I think they are right, if you continue on the path you are currently on. But as we have seen over the last almost 2 years, unpredictable things can happen that can change the way we live our lives and the circumstances in which things happen. So I would definitely evaluate where you are in your current life and what the psychic said. sometimes what they say can even redirect you. I know for me, I rely heavily on my own intuition because that innate gut feeling is never wrong.

Yup! But if you are asking about the future, it’s always changing. You can easily alter the future. They need to say, if you stay on this path, that will happen. But take a different turn and it’s all changed

Psychics can be wrong, absolutely, but I just wanted to jump in here to counter the negatively I read from other commenters with first hand experience.

Nearly 20 years ago, I had my first reading with a psychic recommended by my best friend. My best friend recommended her because she literally saved BF’s son’s life. It’s a long story but basically boils down to BF getting told at the end of the reading to immediately go and get her two year old and take hin to hospital. That the doctors wouldn’t want to do anything because he doesn’t look or act sick (nobody had any idea he was sick- least of all my BF). She was told she needed to scream at them to look at his heart.

That’s exactly what happened. When the doctors finally gave into my BF’s screaming, they discovered such a fatal heart condition that 2yo required immediate surgery that he was only given a 50% chance of surviving. No surgery and he’d be dead within weeks. He’s made it and has had to take heart medication every day of his life since.

My own reading had nothing anywhere near as drastic but certainly as accurate and with many surprising things in it. Several others in our friend group would say the same.

Not every reader is dodgy or fake.

Think of it also like they are translating a language for someone. They are receiving visuals, messages, signs and cues visually and then need to translate that into their own language for the person to understand. Errors or mistranslations can occur when this happens. The future is only based on what your present energies, thoughts and feelings are. You can completely change that which will also alter your future. Certain milestones or important events in your life are always likely to happen however.

Of course. Yes, they can. Sometimes in one thing, sometimes in a couple things, and even wrong in everything they said.

Psychics definitely can be wrong! Nobody is infallible! If anything if you go into a psychic reading, it is good to know this. Not to judge the psychic or anything, but to give open up space in the mind. I think sometimes people hit up psychics with the intent of catching them in some act, but really a psychic is just there to be a “mirror” and help people see themselves, or parts of themselves in a new light. It’s a really hard job though and some people look for drama! I give out all of my respect in the world to psychics out there making a living off of their natural reading and seeing abilities.

Certainly. A lot of the time it’s like the story of the five blind men and the elephant. They’re sensing something, but they may not have the full picture and their personal biases also figure into the interpretation.

I feel like they can be right but not specifically right. But sometimes it’s best not to know what’s gonna happen.

Depends. Psychic ability, intuition, is 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴. How the psychic 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑠 the psychic information can be.

    1. Did the psychic differentiate between their bias and what is psychic information?
    2. Is the psychic carrying residual energy from a previous reading?
    3. Are they too tired to give a reading?

And no psychic ability is not like reading tarot cards. Anybody can “read” cards without using psychic ability.

You wouldn’t be able to change or manipulate a genuine psychic that can tune in 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 absorbing your energy. It all depends how experienced the psychic is. Empath-psychics need to watch out since they are extremely sensitive and mistake your energy as theirs.

However, it’s best to come to reading 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘃𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 so you can take in (without being triggered) what Spirit is saying to you and apply for your life and not there to be merely “entertained”; that’s fortune-telling.

You can manipulate tarot cards especially when you read for yourself or the cards seem to change with your energy flow. It’s best to have a clear mind when reading tarot.

Of course, anyone can misinterpret a message or symbol. Psychics are just people with all the flaws of regular folks. Sometimes people are biased and the bias can influence a reading on a specific topic. It’s not necessarily malicious, but people do get things wrong sometimes.

A psychic or any form of reading into the future can be “wrong” simply from the very moment you’re given the information during your session with them.

If a reader told someone “you will die from a car accident” and they proceed to live the rest of their life inside a bunker for 30 years, then yes the prediction is” wrong” but in every instance of that person’s life before they were given that information, they were set on that path to die from a car accident.

If I’m told that this person I’m talking to is the love of my life and we will have several children together, but in reality I proceed to break up with them a year later in a nasty separation, what I was told wasn’t wrong.

I took that information and whether I admit it or not, a part of me subconsciously got lazy when it came to my relationship with that person

“well it’s meant to be so I got this in the bag” even if it’s not verbalized, depending on a person’s fundamental maturity and Constitution to handle what essentially amounts to quasi-info hazards, a person’s reality can veer so far off course from what a reading tells them that it becomes some form of dark comedy.

If I’m told I’ll live until I’m 103 years old, maybe that information on some micro level emboldens me to push the accelerator just a bit harder during that morning commute, which directly causes me to not be able to correct my steering or brake in time and I die in a wreck.

    Or maybe I survive

    What I’m saying is th

Not all Psychics have the same abilities and specialties. Good ones know how to leave our beliefs at the door and be a clear channel. Timelines can change when people either make really good, unexpected choices, or really poor ones. That’s how free will fits alongside premonitions.

Mental and Physical Mediumship is nothing like Tarot. Using “tools” is not necessary. Our inner mind, or 3rd eye, is where the information comes from. To be really good, professionals usually create extensive symbol diaries..These are designed to answer big life challenges in a millisecond. The 3rd eye is a 5th dimensional chakra, so it takes practice to trust those perceptions. Once a person does, they can get 1000x more information than from a Tarot Card.

Also, not all Tarot/Oracle Card Readers use the books. IMO, that’s not being Psychic, that’s memorizing someone else’s symbols for the cards and just regurgitating it. I don’t like the “fixed” nature of traditional Tarot Readings.

The information given to a client does or should not vary depending on what they (the client) believes. An exception is if I read a super religious person & I’m respectful of their beliefs and may change my language a bit so it’s more comforting & less “woo-wooish”.

People may perceive things differently, but that’s got nothing to do with the message delivered.

Good psychics don’t ask people questions about their beliefs or fish for leading information. We get our insights by focusing on being a clear channel for Spirit. Not a researcher just paraphrasing what they already know about someone. Hope this perspective is helpful!

Cold-reading psychology techniques are commonly used to intuitively evaluate a person’s subconscious feelings. Ultimately, it’s best as an individual to develop your own intuition. Doing this requires being honest with yourself and seeing things objectively for what they are.
