Mine sometimes bites because she’s just too damn comfy.

She then immediately feels bad about it. She’s a precious bastard.

I had a cat for 22 years that only bit me one time in his long life and it was after I tried a perfume sample with pheromones in it. My current older cat has never bitten me a single time. Kittens definitely bite in play but I have not ever had a bitey adult cat.

Y’all, cat bites (I don’t mean love bites, I mean ones that actually break the skin) can be really dangerous if you’re not careful. I would try to discourage that kind of behavior even if the cat thinks they’re playing with you or being cute. In my experience, cats can be taught things just about as well as dogs can.

My tuxedo boy bites me for the reasons of:

    Boredom

    Pranks

    Being a silly little guy

My cat bites me all the time, including for play.

If he wants a rise he goes for the back of my knee. I’m pretty sure he likes the way I squeal.

Then I pick him up and huff his belly. It’s give and take.

It totally depends on the cat. I had one cat that would bite ALL THE THINGS (and people.) Rarely maliciously, though. He just liked putting you in his mouth. OTOH, I had another furbaby that literally only bit me once, when he was having an allergic reaction to the flea meds (he’d apparently scratched his neck, earlier, as well.) The look in his eyes as he did was like “Why are my jaws biting you, I don’t understand, mommy?!” Poor furbaby.
