The 2nd house is about possessions but the 8th house is about death, so I’m not entirely sure how that translates in terms of conflict when there is an opposition between celestial bodies in these houses. Perhaps my view of these houses are too simplistic?

2nd house is values and self-reliance, including what you own of value, and the income you bring in, valuables. Also the intangible values you hold that are non-negotioable to you. The continuation of the first house of identity & self definition is learning what you value.

8th house is about shared intimacy as in contracts or ties to another person, soul contracts, where one is ultimately vulnerable (hence why sex and death), also shared property, the investments earned from business or marriage (what’s earned through 7th house contracts) Also debts, as in financial, but also emotional debts.

The second house is about valuables (or what we value as individuals) and the eighth house is about other peoples valuables and how we interpret their value.

The eighth house is about what we need to “die” (sacrifice) as a means of “following our bliss”, to quote Campbell. While the second house represents what we have, the eighth is what we must give up; I have the Moon conjunct Saturn, and accepting that I needed to outgrow my gloom-and-doom personality was by far the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. I *liked* being known as the quiet and sad guy, since I thought it would make me friends (don’t ask me why). Little did I know that was exactly why people avoided me.

Simple, the axis is my stuff/your stuff.

My stuff: money, possessions, cash on hand.

Your stuff: your money (even if I will eventually inherit it), money I borrowed from you and now owe back to you, money I owe to you in taxes, etc.

That’s the extremely simple version. It’s associated with death because it’s the house just before the DSC/slipping below the horizon. Death + other peoples stuff = inheritance.

I have Uranus and Neptune Rx in my second house opposing an 8th house Venus and North Node.

All of this is squared by Saturn by less than 1 degree.

All I know is that I am always broke and can’t mantain a job.

Wish I could give back my natal chart tbh

8th house is not about death. Not even a little bit.
