I finally cast my first spell! I was so tired after preparing my herbs, I had to rest and finish the next day! Is it because of spent energy, or because Anise is so hard to crush? 😩 I really did try my very best! I did research and followed my heart. I am a complete amateur, so please go easy on me🙈

Casting always wipes me out completely. Immediately after a successful cast I am famished and exhausted. I often find myself crying uncontrollably for no apparent reason. I attribute this to giving all of my energy, physically, mentally, and emotionally, to the spell.

This is absolutely beautiful, OP.
Careful with dusty things on/in/near candles. I usually use scented oil to dress them because it’s less flammable.

Wonderful, beautiful and inspiring! I love this whole photo set. I’ve just started documenting my work and putting the pictures on a tumblr page dedicated to my craft. It’s nice to go back and see what I’ve done with images, rather than consulting my Grimoire.
I spend a couple of days preparing all of the “ingredients” in advance. I try to intuit what’s needed in those 2-3 days (rather than spending a lot of time researching and acquiring). This reduces the physical legwork, so I can put all my effort into the craft itself, and then take a long bath and nap afterwards. 🌙
Can I ask an unrelated question? How did you take that gorgeous bathtub picture (with the background obscured like that)? It’s so cool, and I would love to make one like that too!

Also yes ritual spell work ought leave one feeling spent.

Congrats. Feeling tired or spent means you gave it all you had. It happens to me as well. Rest and recharge. 😊

Believe in yourself and all will be good, yes It takes energy to create spells so dont be alarmed if u feel tired after, eat something that’ll give you energy

A good witch will tell u that often times being tired it means the work is “done”. Especially if u are new and depending on the type of work
