For me, it’s the Tower and the Star. They always look so awkward! The Tower usually has flames or lightning bolts just slapped on it, and the Star always seems to be in the most uncomfortable position with all of her lady parts on full display. My main deck is the White Numen tarot, and I LOVE the Star in that one… but the Tower in WN is such a dorky-looking card.

I don`t like new decks in general they all are so unique that they start to become new norm. The vibe -cyclopes is unique creature ,but not on pirate ship feeling is stronger then ever.Fifteen years ago when I got my first deck as kid every deck was small little universe for reader to explore. now it`s nudity photographs(hate photos on tarot) and nudity

10 of cups in most decks show a the heteronormative nuclear family on a large homestead. With the card signifying a manifestation of happiness, harmony, and family.

This just never clicked with me. The picture doesn’t match how I experience happiness or family. The picture probably doesn’t represent most of the people I do readings for either.

I do understand RWS is over 110 years old and respect that modern artist are free to design the cards to represent these concepts however they wish.

The Fool, I don’t like it when it is depicted as a clown or vagrant. That high-pitched yellow background kept me from buying a deck. Good thing I found The Muse Tarot.

Really depends on the deck. In the RIGHT deck, I believe you will find every card beautiful. Very few decks are like that for me but I treasure the ones that are.

I avoid decks with an overtly Christian theme. It’s a dealbreaker for me.

But the card I like least is the 6 of Pentacles. I adore the Halloween Tarot, where an older, wiser, figure doles out candy, because there it’s appropriate, but in so many decks the people who are destitute need to debase themselves to graciously receive the money they need to live, while the giver can stand there smug, feel good about themselves, and often assumes a role of deciding who is worthy.

I like it when that card explores giving and asking in a more neutral mode.
