Forums Forums Astrology Millennials have Neptune in Cap while Gen z has neptune in Aqua. Both signs have Saturn Rulership. Could it by that aspects between neptune and Saturn can cause Neurodiversity and that is why those generations are negatively stereotyped as being “Depressed and mentally Ill.”

Just an observation I had. Saturn deals with difficult times while Neptune is all about the psyche, creativity and illusion.

    Interesting observation!

I always saw it like millennials have their Pluto in Scorpio while Gen Z have theirs in Sagittarius but this is equally true and interesting.

Which rulership is being used here? As an Aqua sun, I was trained that Uranus is the ruler of Aqua. Saturn used to run the sign, but to be more scientific, Uranus clearly fits the Aqua energy and archetype. It definitely needed updating once new evidence was found. Very Aqua perspective, I know.

Late Gen X with Neptune in sag. My Gen z kids have Neptune in Aqua.

However, I’m adhd (do we call that neurodivergent now?) as are my kids and they inherited from me. Genetics….I don’t think I’d look to astrology for this, but reactions to our conditions perhaps.

I do think Gen z seems more apt to embrace their true self

    Doomers (1998) literally between.
    They don’t relate both generations

I can see why. I have Neptune Capricorn in my 4th House and I feel that due to having lived with a mother who’s mental health problems caused her to have a dreamy, flaky view on life, I’ve struggled to integrate that by utilizing the practical aspect of this Neptune placement through writing and music.

I don’t think it’s a sign of mental illness. More like mass delusion and believing things that aren’t so.

Idk I have saturn and neptune conjunct at 11 Cap and for me it’s great. I like my neptune to be repressed by saturn. My pisces asc isnt my favorite…and saturn conjunct chart ruler makes me more focused and less outhere than most pisces influenced ppl

I have Neptune in Capricorn but also Uranus in Aquarius. Planted right in between millennials and gen z. I’ve always considered myself late millennial but I have no idea if that’s correct

Oh wow what a brilliant insight. I think we have to consider it on the macro level for it to make sense, i.e. the cultural shifts, not at the individual level. The ‘don’t judge/what is mental illness anyway’ kind of response is lazy. We’re not making value judgments anyway. Previous generations are just as, if not more dysfunctional in their own specific ways.

Neptune is, at worst, confusion, illusion, self-delusion, deception of self or others. Aquarius energy is the rebel, eccentric or ‘weirdo’, and anyone who has Aquarians close to them knows they seem to live on a higher mental plane. There is a kind of dissociation and detachment there (which sometimes comes with a touch of genius). With Aquarius energy, there is a **strong** subconscious urge to be different from the crowd and create your own special identity… I can totally see it on the macro level.

‘Mentally ill’ is a term I’ve heard often in reference to gen z by older generations; and it’s understandable from their point of view, because the cultural changes they see go beyond the typical disorders common in the past, and they cannot relate.

With the neptune in Cap generation, it shows up as being critical, negative thinking, depression. We do tend to be a bit pessimistic and hard-done-by *as a subculture*. I agree that the cause is economic. But, the **effects** of all these social/economics factors are reflected in the astrology nonetheless.
Maybe Neptune-Saturn is about a restricting/restructuring (saturn) of the psyche (the portion of the psyche that is Neptune’s domain, anyway).

No it’s because the world has changed drastically as internet and mass social dissociation made a generation of kids prone to mental illness, the world is a different place now

May i add to this, nep in cap generation feel like the bridge between the old world and the new which is in the process of emerging. Nep in Aqua has the perpetual task of solidifying new, aquarian concepts that began with the previous too. I believe the latter see what doesn’t work…feel it more, collectively thus “neurodiversity”. The former though, tough it out (and still complain cus we know its unfair)

(love these posts cus it makes me think too, thank you)

A lot of millennials also have Pluto in Scorpio, and I think that definitely impacts some aspects of the anxiety/depression. especially if you’re real unlucky like me and have all your Scorpio placements in the 12th house 🥲

I also think mental illness isn’t more prevalent because of a certain placement. I believe as a society we’ve become more adept of identifying and being open to mental illness. There’s not more depressed people now – probably just better diagnoses ones.
