So I was hyper conservative in college until I met the love of my life and she brought a ton of new perspectives and I realized I was wrong. That’s another story tho. BUT!!! I remember when I was in college and a professor was trying to explain this and I was SO confused and in denial! And I literally had these arguments!!! I said “your being paranoid!” It’s that shit when you realize (for the hundredth time) that these tactics just have not changed at all. Now ALL OF THIS can be summed up by one word; Corsets. Corsets are evil and they were made by the patriarchy; change my mind. Keh heh heh

Gotta say as a female that doesn’t carry a purse and likes sun dresses in the summer I can’t imagine where the pockets would be put but I really love using my BF as a pack mule for my keys xD

I like how number 4 & 6 contradict each other. Do women already carry too many things, or are the men carrying the things for them? Either problem would be solved by giving women pockets. I’m glad this was pointed out to be satire, because point number 1- pockets not being a natural right- would have been irrelevant to the dudes who don’t see women as people with rights to begin with.
Alice Duer Miller seems like someone who could definitely get misogynists to say dumb stuff on camera.

So the sexist men took away our pockets, and continued to demean us for having purses, wallets, etc. Now they complain that we are too prepared, that we have “baggage” 🙄🙄 ahhh I want to scream into the void about this 😡

Weren’t pockets originally women’s fashion or something? Like to carry sewing supplies or something? I seem to remember seeing a video about it but I can’t remember clearly.

2021 and it’s still a talking point if we manage to buy an item of clothing with decent pockets in it!

Actually, there are more men making women’s clothing then there are women making their own clothing, so we can’t really get a say on pockets.
