I think there is no way to determine compatibility between two people based on sun sign alone, and I also don’t believe in overall chart compatibility either but that’s another story.

As a water sun, fire moon and rising, fire dominant person, I have accepted that all these aspects are complementary. You can be empathetic and brave, fighting the good fight because you understand how things impact people; imaginative and artistic, turning what’s in your head into something tangible; passionate and emotional are two sides of the same coin; nurturing and independent, protecting you from giving your everything to people and being overwhelmed by it; etc. In many ways, fire makes water’s nature more active, and water mellows fire’s nature to keep it from exploding every five minutes. That said, I am the most fiery water sign so still a geyser at heart

I just think it comes down to what you lack in your chart. For example, I’m a lot of earth so I do like fire signs, my sister is a lot of air and she has mostly earth friends.

I’m a Pisces and am about to marry a Gemini. They are definitely all of those attributes, but only a good listener when they choose to be. I am quintessential Pisces for sure, but not very social or confident. Somehow we have worked because of how opposite we are and learned to develop the skills the other one has. Why not? Speaking from my own experience as a Leo sun I would rather be in a relationship with a water sign than with a Cap or Virgo. The latter ones really know how to destroy my mood and put me down with their negativity.

All the experiences I’ve had with water signs were the complete opposite of what people say about them. Every water sign I’ve met only cared about their own emotions and how they feel. Every water sign that I’ve met that I was friends with didn’t care about how I feel and if I did they were really bad at showing it.
