What does it mean when someone’s Moon sign and ASC are the same sign. For example a Taurus Moon and Taurus ASC?

In Hellenistic astrology, the ASC is much more than “the lens through which the world views you.” It is you—your identity. And the rest of the houses in the chart represent the different parts of your life that interact with the 1st House “you.”

So, because your personal identity is signified by the 1st House, there are three major factors that play into which “signs” or archetypes define who you are.

1) The sign that comprises the 1st House

2) The planetary “Ruler” or “Domicile Lord” of that sign, where it is located, and how it is aspected.

3) Any other planets in the 1st House.

In your case, Taurus is your 1st House. Venus is the ruler of Taurus, so whichever house Venus is in and whichever sign comprises that house—those energies will have a prevalent signature in your personality. And, last but certainly not least, you have the Moon in your First. The only sign ruled by the Moon is Cancer. Whichever house that comprises (your 3rd House, I think), the topics of that house should somehow be tied to your personal identity, as well as the archetype of Cancer.

In my case, I have Scorpio ASC with Mars (its ruler) in Gemini in the 8th House. The blend of those archetypes totally reflects my personality.

I would say that we’re much more likely to say/behave/do what we really feel, as opposed to changing our behaviour to suit the situation we’re in. we’re also both excellent at communicating exactly what’s on our mind in a way that is understood by other people.

I have moon in the first house, both ASC and moon in Aries. Traditionally, it means you can convey what you are feeling easily, and that you can pick up on the mood around you. It’s great for actors, musicians or politicians. It gives you the “common touch”.

Taurus Moon and Rising here, what you see is mostly what you get, although with me that changes a little because of other placements, but the combo generally puts people at ease because it is like sturdiness and calmness extra, as long as the person with this combo is content.

Libra moon and rising, with Venus and Mercury also in Libra for me. Sun at 29 degrees 12th house Virgo. People definitely perceive me as a Libra, and I did as well in younger ages, but now internally I feel like a Virgo through and through.
