I’ve heard of many types of tools in the practice, but I’ve been curious about everyone’s personal favorite tools. By tools, I mean physical items, like wands and other items you use in your craft. I own many tools, but my favorite by far is my deer skull, which I use as a way of communicating with my familiar. My second is a multipurpose pocket knife that I use to carve wooden poppets, smoothen wand handles, cut cordage, and carve out faces for my shrunken apple doll heads. What are your most useful tools? Peace and blessings<3

    Mine sounds dumb.

I have crystals that are shaped as dogs and each represents a dog that was important to me and my family. I have both my Shiba and my pit/Mal mix on a price of selenite and they are howling. Behind them is two wolf/husky ones for their aunt and uncle dogs (one that passed) looking over them on a selenite piece that looks like a mountain. And now I need two beagle ones and a golden one for other family members dogs who are important. I always talk to the huskies to protect my babies. The one that passed I felt visited us when I got the husky crystal that looks like him.

It makes me feel like the ones I love are protected.

I would say candles, candle holders, my selenite wand, and a sewing pin I use to carve symbols into my candles. I also frequently use my tarot cards and a necklace I have turned into a pendulum.

My herbal books and herbal reference sheets get used a lot in my practice. And, I use a moon calendar app to remind myself of moon phases and what astrology sign the moon is in.

When making magic oils, I often use a planetary hours calculator online, so I know what the planetary hours are in my time zone for added focus/energy.

My most used tool would be my incense burner.

I have no most important tool. I use what I need at the time.

It is like asking a carpenter for their most important tool.

I need a hammer, a saw, a tape measure, a pencil, and on and on for carpentry tools. The most important tool is the one you feel you need at this exact point in space/time. Tomorrows most important tool will probably be different for me. Hope that helps a bit. Not exactly what you were asking, but that’s all I’ve got right now. BB.

I’ll also say it’s more about what I need at the moment. I do kind of have a favorite right now though. I have a cane that’s kind of in the same area as a wand, but i busted up my foot a couple of weeks back, and he’s currently also helping me not fall over lol.

I guess I always have a key on a chain that I use all the time. Given the symbolism of keys, it’s kind of my magical version of a multitool. If I’m at home, i probably have a better tool for the job, but it’s nice to have, and even at home, I don’t always go for the “better” tool.

My cleansing tools, especially aromatherapy. When a space is pleasing to the senses, magic follows.

My personal favorite tool is my athame. The wooden handle is carved into a goddess figure and I find it very simple, yet pretty. I sometimes use it like a wand, I’ll stir my goblet or cauldron with it, and use it to carve into candles. I also love my besom – the handle fits my hand perfectly and the reeds are flexible enough that you can really sweep with it. It fans out quite prettily so I like how it looks with my altar
