My witchy sister and I are crones and would like to put out a podcast about witchcraft. We are testing the waters and trying to see what the pagan community would like to hear from a couple of desert-dwelling old crones. Please comment and tell me what you would like to know. Do you want to hear about personal experiences or fact-based research, or maybe a mix of both? Do you want current events, for example: politics, world issues, etc, or just pagan-related events? Would you like to have the podcast geared more toward inexperienced witches or the more mature group who have been on the path a while? How would you like the podcast to be formatted? Humorous? Serious? I would appreciate any and all input. Thank you so much in advance!

Hey, I listen to a lot of podcasts, and one thing I think is missing are more professional style podcasts geared towards the more experienced witches. Like humor is great, but wadding through an hour of personal chit chat by the hosts is less so.

I know when I was starting out, I would have LOVED a witchy podcast that does deep-dives into certain topics! Herbalism, incorporating crystals, tips on creating and working spells, different paths of witchcraft, sigil writing methods, divination, holidays and how you personally celebrate, history and tradition of your own craft.

A good combination of experience and research is always great in my opinion—it provides context!

Some segments that geared toward those who have been on this path for a while could be about how to get back into things when you’ve put your craft on the back burner, ideas for incorporating your craft into daily life in a meaningful way, more elaborate workings, etc.

I would like to hear about ritual, and building community. It’s hard being solitary, but I would love to hear about how to progress and challenge my growth even with that (I’ve been a witch for 30 years, but feel like the real meat of the thing is still out there).

I agree with all the comments already posted, but I would like to add in *please* no politics. I’m so over the political divide. Pagan related events would be perfectly acceptable though! Can’t wait to listen in to your first one. Make sure you update us when it’s available!! 🙂

The thing I value most in speaking with crones is their experience with the craft and their firsthand knowledge of the things that have molded both the craft as a whole and their personal experience over their lifespan. In the same ways that younger LGBTQ+ people can benefit from listening to elders who lived through the AIDS epidemic and the omnipresence of anti-gay hate crimes, younger witches can benefit from listening to elders with direct experience in the way social movements, politics, and scholarship have changed witchcraft over their lifespan. And within this umbrella of life experience, there’s a lot of useful and helpful things that can be said to both baby witches and more experienced folks.

I really like the podcast That Witch Life. I feel like it has a good mix of professionalism, humor, and tough conversations. They can be a little rambily at times but I like it. What I would like to see more is series. I don’t feel that you can really dig deep into a topic in just 1 episode.

I love listening to podcasts during my work day. It’s a great way to get into a topic without having to have a book in my face.

Also be sure to keep stuff back for patreon supporters.

Something can have some episodes geared to the experienced witches, some episodes to the new witches, and it is always good to sometimes have humor sprinkled in the episode. Unless you want to make two podcasts a week with one for experienced witches and the other for new witches.

I would love to hear about your experiences in the craft, possibly a little segment for ‘tips and tricks’ somewhere in there. I used to, and intend to start up again soon, a podcast about my experiences with brain cancer, and did an entire episode about how it affected my faith, so I would be quite interested in your takes on a similar note, if at all possible. Not saying I wish cancer on you, or anyone else, of course, just how intertwined health and faith can be, and how a severe health issue, ie brain cancer, can impact it. Or if you want my two cents, my podcast got delisted due to inactivity, I’m quite open for questions.

I would love to hear some anecdotes about witchy experiences you have had… basically my dream would be to find a podcast that felt like a mentor 🙂

Being the nerdy little swot that I am, I love all the suggestions here, but would also like to add in a suggestion fora special feature book review of that’s doable? Maybe on the older books that not everyone gets to or the doorstoppers that intimidate some of the younger or less literary crowd?
