I rarely go out and buy specific things, I usually just use what I have on hand (and i never buy black candles). It’s about intent and trust your intuition. If you feel a shift after you cast, then it probably did it’s job, black candle or not.

I use white candles for most things lol and everything I’ve ever done works. I say it’s black enough, let’s call it a nice midnight or raven black 🙃

I don’t think i’ve ever been able to find a genuinely black candle. Everything i have is incredibly dark purple when melted but dries black. Like others said, all about intent!

Purple is a very powerful color, could turn out to be a happy accident that supercharges your goal. If it feels ok go for it, purple-tinged black candles sound badass to me.

Yes you can still do a protection spell with them you can do a protection spell with any color candle color candles just have to do sometimes with what your intent you’re trying to channel is you can use any candle though intention is everything when it comes to magic and anybody in here who tells you that you have to use corresponding candle colors is gatekeeping the community and should not be doing so! So don’t let anybody gaslighting you and gatekeeping you tell you that you cannot use a dark purple candle for protection you should be fine intention is everything with magic!

Definitely! Purple is also a color that represents the phycic or spiritual world, so they could be used for spiritual protection, or to give your mundane protection a spiritual helping hand.

I would say yes. The important part is YOU and how you will your intention. To me, the objects used in a spell are just to add psychodrama to the situation and help you get into the mood and mindset to do what you have to do.

The way I see it, a candle is a candle. Use what you have. Things only have power if you give them power.

So if a spell calls for a black candle, but all you have is an orange candle, if you go into it thinking “my spell won’t work now” then it’s not going to work. But if you go into it thinking “I’m doing a protection spell. This will channel that intention” then it’s more likely to work.

Also, no need to be wasteful
