could i still do a protection spell with these? it’s supposed to be black but more of a dark dark purple

It’s the intention you have, the color is just to help you get where you need to go it’s however not necessary

It’s not about the candle. It’s 100% about your intentions and believe. Candle it’s just a tool to focus on desires!! In your case it’s protection. You can literally use any color or any object.

The color of the candles don’t actually matter much, depending on the method of your ritual. Generally speaking, your candle should be fine, and you could really be using any candle you want. However, if there actually is some major reason why black is important here, it’s probably wise to stick to that at least for the sake of the spell’s efficacy.

I would do divination on the situation. Which you can actually use the purple candles for divination even maybe use the purple candle as assisting candles for achievement.
But do divination and a clease on the situation. On what is actually and correctly need for your spell. Also know how to reverse it as well. Before you cast.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I think the intention is more important than the colour. If you’re confident that it will do the job, you have respect for the process (and, if you’re doing this for someone else, you’ve gained their consent), I’d say go with it.

White can substitute any color you need, it’s universal

Black is an absorptive colour and may be used for protection by “soaking up” and dispelling harm. Black’s Saturnian correspondences also make it ideal to protect by restraining harmful influences. Certainly still protective, but have to reframe your approach a bit.

Another take of the purple is that it is a higher energy/vibration, and is associated with the spirit. You can easily tie that into a protection spell.

I usually use white. But if I chose another color or if ur reading a spell out of a book I try to stick with the color it asks. But times I use a color I really feels good with what I am doing and I carve the word protection on the candle. But remember to have a clear mind and the intentions and focus ur energy towards it and it should work. Don’t stress on the color.

You can do a protection spell with whatever color you damn well please 🙂
It’s not about the color of the candle or the words you say, those are just tools used to enhance the magic. If your intentions are there and you believe that through this spell protection will come, then it will come.

They look black but if it stuck in your head then dress it, maybe black salt and tie a black cord, ribbon etc

Very much! Purple is the color of spirituality, psychic power and protection itself, as very dark purple, it can be very effective against negative energy
