If our Ascendant can describe our physical appearance, can Descendant describe the physical appearance of the one we’re attracted to?

My descendant is in gemini and I am most attracted to people who are smart, know how to talk and look a little cheeky. All the partners had venus in gemini too. I also have jupiter in the 7th house and I like a partner who is educated, opiniated and optimistic. I also got very lucky with my partners (in contrast to the shitshow that is the rest of my life).
My bf’s descendant is in leo and my venus is in leo. He loves my luscious hair and my flamboyant, self assured self the best!
Anecdotally, Regarding astrocartography we met on his venus line and my origins are on his moon line. I was the one to travel to him and jupiter (in my 7H) means traveling or a partner who is a foreigner (this checks for all my partners).

Ascendant does not describe your physical appearance. It describes who you present yourself to be on the surface or as a first impression. Your sun sign actually holds more about what physical qualities you have. Your descendent is what qualities in a person you tend to look for.

Well I’m a Libra rising Aries DC and I married an Aries sun/mercury lol. He’s a Leo rising though and I’m a Sagittarius but he does say I’m very unique.

As a Capricorn Rising this is interesting. Could definitely see this s as I’m pretty naturally drawn in by Scorpios but prefer to appreciate them from a distance or keep them as just friends. I’m a Scorpio myself and I don’t need more of that chaos in my life. I’m settled down with a Cancer and I love my passionate and mischievous hermit.

Well. I have a Gemini Descendant, and the person I’ve been the most attracted to of all time is a Gemini Sun (and Venus) man. His Sun and Venus are closely aspected opposite my Ascendant. I would say that he is completely my ideal type in theory, but it can’t work out in real life in terms of having a healthy romantic relationship. We also have my Venus opposite his Mars + my Moon square his Pluto. So it’s a very strong physical and sexual attration with this one.

I have a Scorpio descendant and yes I can definitely say I am attracted to the Scorpio stereotype. I love women who are super confident and have alternative kind of vibes. I saw a few comments saying that the descendant placement also describes our style and the outward vibe we try to achieve and this is incredibly accurate for me

I don’t know about physicality per se. Our ascendent reveals our most observable self, characteristics and behaviors. I have found, in personal experience, the descendent represents people we’re most attracted to as they possess what we lack in some ways. I’m a libra rising, and Aries sun signs have really dominated my love life in the most trying ways, as I crave them but can’t fully understand their thinking or behavior.
But communication and passion planets also rule attraction. I’m a triple Leo in Venus, Mars, and Mercury. My relationships with Leo’s have all been very intense, sexually and emotionally. But differently so than with my descendent, because I feel I CAN understand Leo a bit more.

I’d say that the descendant would describe the qualities of whom you’re attracted to but I’d say that Venus/Mars would describe the physical. I’m an anaretic cancer rising which leaves my Descendant the same. My Mars is in Scorpio which appears to Attract “intense” people My Venus in Capricorn so I definitely like the strong and silent types.
